Italy 2006: Vesuvius

After Pompeii, we started the next day by climbing up Mt. Vesuvius itself. It's a pretty impressive crater, especially when you consider that what's left is only half the height of the original mountain. (See if you can spot the wisps of smoke still rising from vents in the crater.)
